Split Rail Fences

Split Rail Fence Options

When it comes to fencing options, Split Rail Fences has come into its own.  Primarily used over the years on vast properties to demarcate different sections of property and property lines.  Its original purpose was to help keep farm animals from wandering off but this charming and rustic design has found its way in to the hearts and yards of many homes in every part of the nation. The reasons that there is more and more of this type of fencing used is the ease with which it can be installed as well as the ability to fully customize the design to fit any need.

Over the years, the Split Rail Fence has morphed from being made from only wood to being made from recycled plastic and vinyl as well.  Although the wood can be a durable choice, the plastic and vinyl is more conducive to property owners who wish to have color choices in their fencing but still want to have all of the charm and function of wood.  Wood will also eventually rot but plastic and vinyl will not making it a more enduring choice.  It is used by homeowners who want to keep their view unobstructed, those who do not have children or pets to keep confined and those who feel that this style of fence best fits their needs and taste.  In addition to all of those reasons, it is just a different design that not everybody has which does not give the feeling of being identical to other yards in the neighborhood.

Whatever the reason for choosing to use the Split Rail Fence, homeowners will be pleased with the look and feel that it brings to the property as a whole.  Because of it's open design, it is easy to work the yard into sections.  The ability to easily install and move this type of fencing makes it an attractive option for these reasons.  If a homeowner desires a more permanent solution, that, of course is possible as well with this style.

The best feature about this type of fencing is that because of the way it is manufactured into long rails, it is very easy to customize the Split Rail Fence to fit any configuration imaginable.  While many of the rails are long, there will also be areas of the yard that do not require such long lines to be fenced.  These can be shortened very easily to complete a project to make the yard complete and customized to any specifications needed.
